ABOUT THE ADAM GITTER FOUNDATION
Established in 2024, the Adam Gitter Foundation honors the life of a beloved child taken too soon. From a young age, Adam was taught by his parents, grandparents, and teachers to use his life as a force for good—to make the world and the human condition better. He embraced these values wholeheartedly, living his short life like a bright shooting star. This foundation is an effort to ensure that his life continues to make a difference.
Adam was a joyful and compassionate boy with boundless energy and a heart full of kindness. He was passionate about soccer, playing first at the YMCA in Lakeland and later with the Swan City league, always giving his all for his team. Music was another love of his—he knew the lyrics to Eye of the Tiger and Don't Stop Believin', but his favorite song was Lambo by Stephen Sharer. He was also learning piano and was getting pretty good, even though he stubbornly avoided practice.
Reading was a special part of Adam’s life, often ending his days curled up with a book. The last book he was reading was The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, though he didn’t get the chance to finish it. But beyond his interests, what made Adam truly special was his kindness. He had a deep empathy for others and always wanted to help. His parents instilled in him the importance of being a good person and leaving the world better than he found it—values that continue to guide this foundation.
Guided by Adam’s spirit and the values of kindness, understanding, and giving, the Adam Gitter Foundation empowers at-risk youth by providing access to programs that benefit their well-being, spark curiosity, and inspire a lifelong commitment to personal and social growth. Adam’s light lives on, not just in the hearts of those who knew and loved him, but in the actions and impact we create in his name—ensuring that his bright shooting star continues to illuminate the world.
